Kentucky woman searching for wedding dress after husband accidentally gave it to Goodwill - Courier Journal

A woman from Mount Washington is searching for her wedding dress — more than four years after she got married.

Kayla Alvey told news station WAVE-3 her husband accidentally donated her wedding dress to Goodwill with a stack of tablecloths after cleaning out their garage.

Her husband took the dress to the secondhand shop on Jan. 19, but Alvey didn't realize it was missing until more than a week later. When they went to the store to look for it, the dress was already gone, WAVE-3 reported.

Though she doesn't have a daughter to pass the dress to, Alvey told the news station the dress is especially important to her because she was diagnosed last year with breast cancer.

"The dress is kind of the last thing I was able to wear that was form-fitting and myself," she told WAVE-3. "Just having that dress is a keepsake from the day.”

"I’m hoping someone has just purchased the dress and if they have, by all means, wear it. It’s a beautiful dress. I just want it back in the long run.”
